The Bachelorette does Whistler!
We catch up with Jillian and her boys this week at the Chateau Whistler. What another amazing plug for Whistler and beautiful British Columbia. Blue skies, snow capped mountains and lots of exciting activities helped promote the home of the 2010 Olympics. Last week interest in Vancouver went crazy with everyone wanting the 2010 Olympic blue hoodie from Aritzia and too many people realizing what an amazing city we live in. The secret is out.
This episode was very interesting as we start to dwindle down our 10 hopeful bachelors to 8 and also see a few more sides or rather tears of our blushing brunette beauty Jillian. Throughout the show there are definitely some lingering concerns about who has a girlfriend and Jillian is determined to get to the bottom of it on her various dates.
We start off with the one-on-one date with our youngster Michael the break dancer who makes her feel 19 again. The two of them head off zip trekking where Michael is definitely the fun, carefree, young at heart bachelor who openly has a crush on Jillian. Not sure if she feels the same way.
Afterwards, Jillian takes a group of eight snowmobiling through a heavily wooded area, stopping off at various points to grill each bachelor on their intentions. "To have eight hot guys, snowmobiling in Whistler? This is every Canadian girl's dream!" she raved. She definitely is not afraid to ask each of them if they are here for the right reasons and also throws in the dreaded “are you ready to get married and have kids now”? Most of the guys are straight up and of course answer yes….what are they supposed to say?
We definitely see her falling for Wes who I think is pulling the wool over her eyes big time. "I love Wes. I like that he's kinda bad-ass, but so sweet..." she said, although the fellow Bachelors question his true motives for being on the show and so do we! His CD just happens to be coming out next month - how coincidental?
Jillian's final one-on-one date was with Jesse, a 27-year-old wine maker who loves her sexy voice. The two went flying up to a glacier as the sunshine blazed down on the snowy peaks. The twosome played around in the snow, chasing each other and making snow angels and commenting about being "on top of the world."
Fast forward to some very familiar territory as the two moved to a steamy hot tub scene, reminiscent of Jillian's make out session with Jason Mesnick in the previous episode of The Bachelor. Needless to say, Jesse got a rose after answering some hard questions about where he sees himself at 35 years of age. He answers correctly as married and with kids.
The saddest part of the show was when our boy Ed made the tough decision to leave. Jillian was clearly heartbroken when Ed, a 29-year-old technology consultant, delivered a shocking blow that he had to leave the show in order to save his career. Jillian took it very personally with a few insecure comments about not being good enough for him to choose her over his career and now she is worried that some of the other bachelors may feel the same way. Where is this coming from? She unfortunately realized how much she liked him after he left. The great adage of always wanting what we can’t have. Meanwhile she’s got 9 other guys vying for her affections so I think she’ll be ok. Although my sister Amanda thinks we should start a campaign to bring Eddie back. Anyone else?
The rose ceremony was quite uneventful as Jillian decided to skip the cocktail party and go straight to business. The only boy who did not get a rose was Mark the pizza entrepreneur. Not a big surprise and probably a good choice. Not much chemistry going on between them.
Next week we see the Bachelors ride the train across the Rocky Mountains, for yet another truly Canadian promotion, or rather I mean adventure.
Who do you think is going to be in the top 3 in the weeks to come?
Till next week.......

This episode was BORING!
I bet Ed comes back.
Tanner... still the gay cousin. OBVIOUSLY! What the crap, she hasn't even hugged... something about him makes NO SENSE.
Ha! Good one. So true. Not
Ha! Good one. So true. Not sure why she is keeping him around - perhaps she likes having her feet rubbed? or maybe she doesn't see what a douche bag he is when he is always putting his best foot forward (no pun intended).
Bring Eddie back
I love reading the blog each week!
I really hope Ed does come back at some point. He was super sweet and I think he has a great chance with Jillian.
