The fat lady may not have sung, but the writing sure seems to be on the wall for Joss Whedon's culty "Dollhouse" now that Fox has announced it's yanking the struggling series from the air during November sweeps.

I'm a big Whedon fan, but I just never quite liked "Dollhouse" as much as I wanted to like it. I can't quite put my finger on it, but somehow the show just hasn't seemed to find its footing — although it has come pretty close in select episodes, offering a tantalizing glimpse of how good a show "Dollhouse" could still become.

Clearly I'm not alone; ratings for the show have been abysmal, even considering its Friday night timeslot, and the fact that the network is pulling it off the air during those all-important sweeps weeks does not bode well for hopes the show will survive to see a third season.

Boo!

Have to agree with you though... I wanted so hard to like it and some of the episodes have been really good... just some have been total let downs. It's no Firefly or Buffy, that's for sure.

and another show that is

and another show that is worth watching compared to the garbage ( ie reality TV ) that it on, gets the ax.. brilliant.. its starting to get to the point where it isn't even worth it to have cable tv, and instead just watch everything after it is released on dvd/blue ray

i remember when Fox moved Dark angel from tuesday nights ( where it was doing GREAT in the ratings ) to Friday night, and guess what time slot... 9 pm... and Dark Angel season 2 was its last due to poor ratings... maybe Fox should try Moving Dollhouse to a different day before they kill it........

good job Fox ... good job...
