Apparently, six seasons playing brutal mob boss Tony Soprano has rubbed off on James Gandolfini, as evidenced by a recent altercation the former "Sopranos" star had with a pesky photographer.

On Halloween, Gandolfini was in NYC shopping with his family when he detected a cameraman shooting video of him. He marches toward the photographer, while a female voice says, "Jim, don't."

"Relax," he says, striding toward the photographer, who lowers the camera.

I know what's coming – this is how every beatdown on The Sopranos began.

After the cameraman ignores his request to put down the camera, a pissed-off Gandolfini delivers what appears to be a whack to the side of his head, declaring "I'm gonna break your #$%&ing face!"

I expect a lawsuit will be imminent, but if I were the judge, I'd side with Gandolfini. I mean, c'mon, dude, have you never seen an episode of The Sopranos? What did you expect would happen?

You can see video of the incident here.
