The New York Post is reporting that former Friends star Jennifer Aniston will host her own talk show on Oprah Winfrey's new OWN network.
Yeah, sure she will.
Apparently that whole movie star thing is a total drag. Picking up huge paycheques for starring in mediocre romantic comedies is apparently not nearly as appealing as interviewing celebrities for far less money. Citing a report in London's Daily Express, the newspaper says Aniston is a huge fan of Chelsea Hander's E! Channel talk show, and is doing her own talk show "for one reason only; she absolutely wants to do it." (This according to a "source close to the deal.")
"Jen became fascinated with the format after spending time with Chelsea," said this alleged source. "When she saw Oprah she mentioned that it would be fun to do a chat show and Oprah seized the moment and suggested they front one together for her network . . . her salary is yet to be determined."
If you're thinking the idea of Jennifer Aniston hosting a talk show is about as likely as Jon and Kate Gosselin behaving like grown-ups, then join the club. I read this and instantly suspected it was nonsense, which, lo and behold, was was immediately confirmed by sources ranging from US Weekly to The New York Daily News, which shot down the erroneous rumour with a story headlined "Jennifer Aniston is not, repeat not, going to host her own talk show." Oh, and Aniston's rep denies the report entirely, calling the story "false" and denying Aniston and Winfrey have any plans to work together on a talk show.
