The new fall TV season officially kicks off tonight with the CW launching its remake of “Melrose Place” and the second season of its remake of “90210.” Go ahead and watch. In fact, why not also throw on some grungy plaid flannel and pretend it’s 1993? That's how the CW devised their new fall season.

Then, after indulging in two hours of cheese, you’ll want to clear your palate by diving into the lurid nastiness that is the Jon & Kate Tabloid Circus, with Jon Gosselin whining about HIS version of the breakup for a whole hour on ABC’s Primetime: Family Secrets at 10 p.m.

According to snippets of the interview played today on Good Morning America, we can look forward to Jon admitting he “despises” his ex (because she doesn’t say the same stuff on TV that she tells him in private), accuses her of stealing his wedding ring, and whining about how he felt “jealous” that Kate would be off doing book tours and stuff while he was — sob — forced to stay at home and spend time with his children in their luxurious house. Oh, and he also implies Kate may have been boffing her bodyguard, which now makes it pretty clear where those rumours originated. Oh, plus, he hated how she bossed him around and belittled and berated him and treated him like garbage, which, well, OK, I'll give him that one.

So maybe Jon is not the most mature man on the planet, while Kate is not exactly what you’d call a nurturer, and I’ll admit a certain degree of morbid curiosity with the ever-increasing animosity with which they attack each other in the press. It's pretty funny.

But someday soon those eight little kids won’t be so little, and it’s only a matter of time before they see Daddy and Mommy trashing each other on YouTube, experiencing unimaginable shame and embarrassment, and who knows what kind of lingering psychological traumas.

That’s not going to be so funny.

Back in '93

Those of us wearing plaid flannel back in 1993 would NOT have been caught dead watching Melrose Place. We were too busy listening to Alice in Chains. Just sayin'.

Finally, Jon Gosselin is

Finally, Jon Gosselin is talking about why his 10-year marriage went sour and eventually separated to his wife Kate. Jon Gosselin was on Good Morning America, and it just proves that we're bored as a culture. (Try reading a book people, seriously. You might learn something.) It's hard to have sympathy for Jon Gosselin, or Kate Gosselin for that matter, since the vacuous divorcees' should both probably be shot out of a cannon. He's having a mid life crisis – boring! She's exploiting her kids for money – disgusting, and she should get a real job – and boring! Who cares about either of these people? Honestly, they're less than what we'd call intelligent, and boorish – they probably should be made into fertilizer. Seriously, people – let's stop giving Jon Gosselin publicity, maybe get some pay day loans and find a hobby.
