CBS's snooze-inducing organ-transplant medical drama "Three Rivers" has been unceremoniously yanked from the December schedule, although the network is loathe to admit this means it's cancelled.

Officially, the show is "on hiatus," and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is quoting a CBS spokesperson as saying, "No final decision on its future has been made. The show will complete production on the 13 episodes ordered."

Yup, it's cancelled.

In the meantime, CBS is planning to fill the vacant timeslot with a rerun of one of its interchangeable procedural crime dramas until the develop a new interchangeable procedural crime drama as a permanent replacement. Might I suggest "NCIS: Criminal Minds — Miami"
