Jo Jo is on holiday this week and she’s left it up to me to watch and write. But since it’s about a million degrees in my house, I opted to visit a friend with a pool instead, thereby missing the show. Well, wouldn’t you have done the same!? It’s all good though, I have several friends who are also big fans of the show and I got the lowdown. So here’s my indirect recap of the Wednesday night.
Jeannine and Ade: Samba was good, but after a good start, they lost steam. Mind you, this does seem like the time of the season when dancers start getting tired. Hey, it’s legit, they dance a lot and hard every week and as dancers get voted off, the remaining ones are given more to do. Jeannine and Ade’s second dance was Hip Hop, which they hit.
Melissa and Evan: Broadway! Evan’s style. He is definitely a performer, and he won over my good friend Dee. She wants Evan to win the title based on that one routine alone, as she’s a huge fan of Broadway. But from the reviews, Evan didn’t impress that many. Their second dance was a Quick Step. Unfortunately, Evan and Melissa didn’t seem to have any connection as a couple. It was good, but definitely not one of the best we’ve seen.
Kayla and Brandon: The favourite couple of the night. The judges loved them as much as the viewers. Their contemporary dance was excellent. Yet again, the length and extension of Kayla’s legs is astounding – gorgeous. Great connection and a beautiful routine. They followed this up with a Disco danced with full energy! These two dancers didn’t show any signs of being tired.
Now let’s cut to Thursday and the voting.
Girls: Quite honestly, I’d have been happy with any of the girls winning the title. I like them all equally and they are all talented. First girl safe was Jeannine. Second girl safe was Kayla. Hats off to Melissa for making it to the top 3 girls. She’s a beautiful dancer, the oldest dancer and did an amazing job at all the different dance styles so different from ballet.
Boys: I must say, at the start Brandon was my least favourite, but somehow my feelings have changed over the course of the show. I was happy to see him be the first guy safe. Second guy safe was Evan. Ade brought some great personality to the show, amazing technique and funk. I’m sad to see him go home.
So there was have it – our top 4 dancers!
Jeannine
Brandon
Kayla
Evan
Should make for a great season finale.

That was true, in fact Janet Jackson may no longer have the most famous fashion accident on TV because So You Can Think You Can Dance flash incident was starting to be popular. Apparently, a contestant, contestant #22036, was so overjoyed by being accepted into the show accidentally gave everyone a peek – she was wearing a skirt and no underwear. Judge Nigel Lythgoe quipped that "the contest was designed to expose talent, but not in that way!" It's a non-incident – anyone who really gets upset over this really has too much time on their hands. However, someone is going to need payday loans out of this – they had months to edit it out, since the auditions where it happened were filmed in June, so an editor somewhere is getting fired.
