The Vancouver Canadians Baseball is hosting free family movie nights this summer at Nat Bailey Stadium.

The next feature is Friday July 16th at 7:00pm as they screen one of my all-time favourite baseball movies, The Sandlot. The movie will play on their brand new 18x20 foot video scoreboard while the audience can bring blankets and camp out on Scotiabank Field for the evening.

This is just one of many events that the Canadians hope to host at the newly refurbished Nat Bailey Stadium. Along with energy-efficient lighting they're hoping the space and video board can be used for more community events. "It's just going to change the entertainment experience at the ballpark, it's going to be unbelievable," says Canadians President Andy Dunn. In the future they may even consider hosting lower-sound concerts in order to continue to be a good neighbour to the community, in terms of noise.

For the upcoming movie night admission and parking are free of charge with donations graciously accepted to help support the newly formed Vancouver Canadians Baseball Foundation. Arrive early to scoop claim your patch of grass at the diamond; gates open at 6:30pm.
