Pure Pwnage

10 p.m., Showcase

It’s pronounced “ownage,” and if you’ve never heard the phrase before, you probably don’t play a lot of MMOs (that’s short for “Massively Multiplayer Online” games). OK, you busted us, we don’t know what any of this stuff means either. But that doesn’t mean we’re not curious to see what this incredibly popular online series looks like now that its coming to television on Showcase. In this caustic Canadian-made mockumentary series, self-proclaimed pro gamer Jeremy (Jarett Cale) finds the skills that made him the master of his Xbox are pretty useless as he tries to navigate through the real world. If only he wasn’t too stupid to realize it.

House

Jonestown Paradise Lost

You’ll never drink Kool-Aid again after watching this mesmerizing, disturbing documentary focusing on Peoples Temple cult leader Jim Jones, who relocated his followers to a compound in the South American country of Guyana, where 918 people — including Jones himself — died in a 1978 mass murder-suicide.
